Why start an intergenerational multilevel orchestra?

1) Many communities have no other way for children to experience ensemble playing with strings.

2) Generations within a community need each other and benefit from interaction. This model harnesses the skills and experience of adults to teach, while motivating beginners to learn.

3) The orchestra models cooperation, discipline, and diversity in the community.

4) Have you HEARD a beginning orchestra? Gifted musicians are likely to quit playing with groups that sound horrible. The mix of advanced and intermediate players with beginners helps everyone to strive for excellence and musicality.
